Clinton Portis that is.
Clinton Portis: I’d vote for him!First of all, the man has been playing in pain…both in his shoulders and lower back. When I have pain my lower back, I can barely motivate myself to do things, like, oh, grout my kitchen floor. Portis has pain in his lower back and rams himself in to 300 lbs. men. Of course, he also gets paid a few million bucks a year to do this for our entertainment, but it takes a hell of a work ethic to lower your shoulder and grind out yardage when you’re hurting.
Of course, he may have just been pissed off that Philadelphia fans threw something on his Mom in the stands. He followed that up by breaking out for a 22-yard touchdown run on a play where he should have been tackled in the backfield.
Clinton Portis diving for a touchdown at the end of the 22-yard TD runThat said, Portis is not the only Redskins who knows how to make for a nice photo finish as he crosses the goal line. Sean Taylor scored his first touchdown, and got into the end zone in style to put the ’skins up 31-20.
Sean Taylor showboating into the end zone!…and, given that the team has put together a five game winning streak as they enter the playoffs, beating divisional rivals like the Cowboys, Giants, and now the Eagles to finish the season, it appears the “do-it-yourself” mentality the Redskins have developed showed itself again today because they executed well enough to win, knowing that would get them into the playoffs.
The Redskins don’t even ask for help when dumping Gatorade on themselves. They just do it on their own… just like how they got into the playoffs! This rocks. The ‘Skins are in (the playoffs) for the first time since the 1999 season, when we lost to Tampa Bay in the second round, 14-13. Hmmmm. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself and we win down there and extend the celebration for a few more weeks!
Gibbs got them back on track. IT is nice to have something to root for, isn’t it.
If the Skins and Giants both win next week, you guys go to Seattle while we go to Chicago. Even though we would be playing the two-seed, I’d rather play Seattle. We have to feel confident we could beat Seattle, since we had three chances to beat them when we played during the season, and only lost due to a bad day for our kicker. Id we had only won that game, we’d have had the first round bye as well. Oh, well. If my Aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.
