Carnivores vs. Herbivores
I have friends who are well-thought out vegetarians and vegans, so this posting is not about them… so I hope they cut me some slack on this, because I’m writing this post for all the people whose eyes tear up like an anime princess when they see an animal get slaughtered for human consumption.

You see, the problem with this is that the way things work in Nature runs contradictory to the need to avoid starvation. Oh sure, I bet I could eat vegetables all day, but there’s something about meat that just seems to be both filling and delicious… Heck, you never see vegetarians suffering from “The Itis” do you?
So, let us consider the plight of the wildebeest… it’s a herbivore that lives by grazing on grass. They are nature’s lawnmowers. However, in the circle of life, a wildebeest is also nature’s way of providing protein to predatory carnivores like lions.
(Who, incidentally, love to eat other animals. I know this may not be something we see in Disney productions, but really… Simba didn’t get big by not eating meat!)
So imagine a wildebeest family trying to make its away across the land, and then encountering a pride of lions (0:48).
Then throw a crocodile in to the mix (about 3:30 in to the video)!
If you watch the entire video, you’ll realize that no one gets to eat because the wildebeest roll up and smack everyone down. So the moral of the story? If you’re going to mess with vegetarians, don’t let them roll up on you with a big posse… fight fair you protein-deprived grass-eaters! Oh, and if you want to hear what the lions were thinking, check out this humorous reply to the video…
