*squirt squirt squirt*

I’ve been sick with flu-like symptoms that come and go… only to come back again. A friend of mine who has suffered through similar symptoms got on my case and convinced me to go to the doctor, and he basically confirmed what she said: There’s a bug going around that just lingers, and it can take weeks before the symptoms stop presenting.

I’m also going to give ACV a whirl based on the recommendation of another friend who reads my blog… You know who you are! :-)

In my case, the symptoms are mild fatigue, chronic pain in my joints (ankles, knees, fingers, wrists, elbows), a nasty cough, and an occassional runny nose.

Because of the aches and pains, my doctor wanted to rule out Lu
pus
, Lyme disease, and some other extreme possibilities, so he ordered up some blood work.

Blood Test

I feel like such a wuss because the little bandages are mandatory and I cry when I have to pull arm-hair off when removing them. :-)

The lab technician who took my blood was pretty cool, and she pointed out two things that I thought were funny:

1) Apparently, I’m the only person who likes to look at himself being poked with a needle. I also watch the blood fill the little collection tubes.

2) I don’t take direction very well. We had a funny moment (well, funny to me!) where I was trying to see if I could speed up the blood-letting by squeezing my fist. Her response? “Don’t do that! If you do that at the wrong time, you’ll get blood everywhere!”

3) I’m a squirter. No, not like that! To be more precise, the blood rushes out of me like oil in “There Will Be Blood” when they strike a deposit.

Anyways, I’m loading up on meds and hoping to soldier on through the rest of my workday before collapsing in a heap. Tomorrow, I need to mow that lawn. And if you remember my photos of my freshly-waxed car, you probably can imagine how craptacular my lawn looks now!
