And this is why I just ordered a GPS…
That’s right — I’ve given up on using Google Maps on my (original, non-3G) iPhone as my in-car navigation. Why? Because EDGE is slow, so getting map data while on the move is painful. Also, Google Maps sucks when you’re driving. Looking for nearby restaurants? Assuming you can type on the phone without crashing in to another car, you still have to enter something like this:
…and the results may not be easy to navigate through on a cell phone with a touch screen while trying to operate a motor vehicle.
So I’ve decided to just splurge and get a GPS. I even spent a l’il extra to get one that has maps that include Hawaii.
